Happy for Sales
OK, I admit it. About once a year, (fortunately for you not more often than that), I get a bit mushy and sentimental. Usually it's around Thanksgiving because it's one of my favorite holidays. Also, my husband and I were married in Myrtle Beach on November 27th, which was Thanksgiving weekend that year. Shortly after T'giving and our anniversary, is my birthday, so I get to reflect.
Part of my reflection comes by thinking of my business, which I've had for 13+ years, now. Not only do I speak, train and consult, but as you know, I SELL and do that every single day of my working life. In fact, even if I'm not working, I'm selling. It just comes naturally and I love the profession and the activity involved around the people-interactions. After all, what I tell people is that sales is simply "advanced communication".

Now, for my tie to Thanksgiving, reflection, sales, and YOU! (It took me a few paragraphs, but I got there as you can see.)

Regardless of what kind of sales year you had, and whether you celebrate the traditional American holiday of Thanksgiving,  this is a good time for you to think about what you can be thankful for at work. Here are a few ideas for you to think about:

1. If you kept most of your customers this year. Be thankful for that.

2. If you helped a colleague, customer, or networking contact by going the extra mile, be thankful that you could help.

3. If you brought in new business...that's something to be thankful for.

4. If someone bailed you out of a jam or difficult situation, be thankful that someone cares about you.

5.  If you love your work, despite what your year looked like, there's a lot to be thankful for that you are committed.

So there you have it--short and sweet. Take just 5 minutes and think of what made you happy at work this past year. I promise not to bring this up again (at least THIS year!)

Enjoy your celebration, wherever you are, and happy selling!
